Thank you for your response. It is a common lens to think tech is inert and harm is caused by user error (like the humble hammer). Imho these classes of tech are not inert and additionally are engaging with mechanisms of perception and how we make sense of phemonemon, and attempt gamified stickiness for ad revenue like YouTube, Candy Crush or slot machines. I read a recent article https://editions.thenightly.com.au/ccidist-ws/the_nightly/the_nightly/issues/11191/OPS/GI44R13AN.1+G0K4RHC29.1.html that claimed the likes of Insta and TikTok are permitting hyper violent videos unmoderated and a psychologist opined that no one should use social media under the age of 22 due to the impact on brain maturity formation. Either way, these platforms are not tools per se imho but experiences that mediate and warp phenomenon (or qualia). This is apart from AI.
